On October 31st, the same day as Halloween, six students got out of school to participate in something equally scary- the Momberg Math and Science competition. Seniors Steven Berhow, Austin Morrison, and Lauren Crowley, and juniors Macy Arp, Jordan Drake, and Mikeala Lewis competed against twenty different schools all over the state, each bringing two or three teams with them. Our seniors made up one team, while the juniors made up another. The students were tested over college algebra, physics, chemistry, trigonometry, calculus, and other sciences, as well as having to create a paper airplane using aerodynamics and design laws. Austin Morrison was quoted as saying, “The senior team got into the top five, and our junior team did well for not having half the classes they were tested over.” Jose, the science teacher sponsoring the trip, also thought both teams did exceptionally well. Go Bulldogs!
