Derek Howard, a sophomore at Harrisburg R-VIII, became the state champion of cyber security, at the Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 15, 2014.
Derek was District 6 Champion of Cyber Security and Computer Problem Solving, and preliminary results predicted a state win. He followed through, by achieving the highest score on a 100 question test about security against 88 other competitors who made it past their district-level completion.
The top three competitors at each event move on to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Derek will be in Nashville at the end of June, and we wish him luck as he represents our school and our state!
