CMSA World Championship: Katie Smith

In October of 2013, Katie Smith and her family went to Amarillo, Texas, to participate in the Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Competition. Katie is a senior at Harrisburg High School and participates in shooting in her spare time. She is a Ladies Level 4 Shooter. As of April 2014, she is ranked 1st in the state in Ladies Level 4, and 2nd in state for shotgun. What is Cowboy Mounted Shooting? Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association® is the fastest growing Equestrian sport in the nation. Mounted contestants compete in this fast action event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association “C.M.S.A.” has a variety of levels of competition for everyone, ranging from novice levels to the seasoned professional. At the World Competition Katie Smith placed 139th out of 356 shooters. Congrats Katie!
